I think life is a process of spiritual realisation.. maybe in the end, we are supposed to realise that true happiness comes from within and not from the things that we touch, see, hear etc etc ..(in other words, the material world) .. theoretically, I see 2 different ways of reaching the destinatioan .. 1. to go after material happiness with all ur energy and perhaps later realise its futility (the rajni-arunachalam way.. remember what rajni's dad did when he saw him smoking secretly, well.. he put him in a room full of beedis and asked him to smoke his heart's content) 2. the second way is to strongly believe in this Final destination concept and
to be happy without a lot of wealth.. i.e to show to oneself that material prosperity is not a prerequisite for internally prosperity thr may be other ways, but i see only 2 ..

But isn't more money better? Nobody complains of being rich, people complain only of being starved, overworked, unable to afford treatment...So how do we explain that there exists something(say, happiness) over and beyond immediate / may be urgent physical/material needs?
PS: please convince me that money is not everything, been mulling this thought for a long time now!:)
Yes, true. Money provides the means to several things. The idea here is not to convince, but to compare notes with fellow travelers (that's why its called "The journey").. I cant convince u or anybody else because suppose u want to go from Chennai to say Bangalore, you can travel on the highway if you want speed, you can take a country road if you want to enjoy the country side. In that sense, there is no better way because each life is a unique experience mainly determined by your individuality and choice.
pls read "your individuality and choice" as "your situation and aspirations" in my earlier comment.
